Alpe Devero: Discover with Mountainscaper

Come with me to discover one of the few left wild spots in the alps.

I invite you to discover together with me one of my places of heart: Alpe Devero.

Alpe Devero is in danger, as a speculative project has the goal to develop a huge ski resort in this wild corner of alps.
I want to bring you here to see it before it becomes a wasteland.

On 12th January 2020 I’ll organize an easy hike around Devero, traversing enchanted winter woods and massive snow plateau. After that, we’ll have together a nice restoring afternoon lunch at Cai Castiglioni hut.

The Hike
The hike will be from Devero to Monte Cazzola. It’s a easy-medium snowshoes or backcountry ski itinerary.
Total ascension: 700m
Ascension time: 2-3 hours

The Lunch
Cai Castiglioni hut will be our basecamp for the day. They will provide us a traditional Ossola Valley meal.
You can contact them to rent snowshoes or other gears. They also have beautiful and cheap sleeping rooms, just reserve with good advance!

The Schedule – 12th January 2020

Safety and responsibility
Even if Mount Cazzola is a very safe place, we never forget we are in wild mountains.
If avalanche risk will go up to 4 or 5, or in case of very bad weather, our snow hike will be postponed.
Remember: even if I have experience, I’m not a mountain guide. You take part to the hike under your own responsibility!
