“I invite you to The Atlas, travelling with me in a lonely range, up, in the northern africa, facing mediterran, where desert and snow exist together.

Here live the imazigen, the “free men”, an ancient population, that offer us a hard welcome, in a beautiful wasteland: it’s a resonance, an inner contrast generated by the outworld.

I used a strong coloring and lighting on my pictures, focusing my images on the contrasts between blue skies, orange grounds and white icefields. Lights and darks are undefined: that’s how we see in everyday life, with our eyes absorbed by few elements and subjects.

Discovering this land of contrasts changed my vision of the world, so here is my atlas, shared to you from my heart” (Luca Fontana)
